What we’re about
Thanks for considering joining Ethnic Food Lovers of South Florida.
We're a diverse group of mostly singles and mostly aged 55+, but everyone is welcome to join us at food and drink events across South Florida, from Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach.
We come together for the joy of eating, drinking, making new friends, and sharing our travel and dining experiences.
There is an emphasis on positivity and gratefulness rather than on complaining and criticizing.
The group is a safe environment for all. There is a zero tolerance for harassment of any kind. Insulting, disrespecting, or berating waitstaff, event hosts, or fellow members is likewise ill-advised.
We do not rotate the same tired restaurants week after week, with the same members showing up event after event.
There is never a group charge.
Our events fall into two categories: hosted restaurant events organized by me and others, and unhosted events that range from cooking classes to food festivals.
For the latter type, follow the link to purchase tickets for each event as soon as possible, as some of these events sell out quickly.
The group only lists these events, does not sponsor them, and depends on members to determine if each event is appropriate for them.
The only costs to you are associated with unhosted events that you choose to participate in, and of course, your food and drink at hosted events!
At hosted dinner events, we order entrees.
For breakfast and lunch events, we generally order what we wish, although ordering something significant, whether an omelet, salad, or a sandwich, will ensure that we’ll be welcomed back to the restaurant in the future.
Separate checks will always be issued wherever we eat.
We leave political and religious discussions to other meetup groups and our friends, neighbors, and family members outside the group.
We limit our phone use when we're together and focus on eating and socializing.
You're sure to fit right in if you value civility, humor, and good conversation.
Bring a good appetite and your gift for gab.
Please also be sure to post your favorite ethnic eateries on our discussion page and enable all group messages.
Now, let's eat!
Steve

The Palm Beach Food & Wine Festival (PBFWF), in partnership with Wine Spectator, returns Dec. 11–14, 2025, for its 18th year with an extraordinary four-day lineup of culinary and wine-driven experiences. Known for its world-class chef collaborations and exceptional programming, this year’s Festival presents 22 events across Palm Beach County, blending anticipated debuts with returning favorites. Guests can expect everything from intimate multi-course dinners to vibrant walk-around tastings, all designed to showcase the artistry of food, wine, and hospitality.
As part of its enduring philanthropic mission, PBFWF will once again dedicate a portion of proceeds to the Els for Autism Foundation, supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families worldwide. The program’s breadth reflects the Festival’s unique appeal, with experiences ranging from family-friendly cooking classes to new highlights such as the first-ever Oceano walk-around tasting, where acclaimed chefs will offer signature bites paired with exceptional wines and cocktails in an airy coastal setting, and HMF Social, a refined afternoon of sparkling wines, high tea–inspired cocktails, and gourmet small plates in The Breakers’ famed dining room.
Dinner at Aioli also makes its debut, pairing chef Michael Hackman with celebrated culinary voices for a collaborative five-course feast. Beloved staples, including Daniel & Friends and the Grand Tasting, return, while spirited gatherings such as Bubbles & Bites: A Yacht Rock Experience promise lively evenings filled with sparkling pours, chef-crafted plates, and nostalgic tunes poolside at PGA National Resort. “The Palm Beach Food & Wine Festival is about more than incredible food and wine—it’s about the connections made at the table, the stories behind every dish, and the joy of sharing unforgettable experiences,” said festival director David Sabin.
Through its continued partnership with Wine Spectator, the Festival maintains a benchmark of excellence by presenting only wines rated 90+ throughout its events, culminating in a Grand Tasting that features more than 100 distinguished wineries. This commitment, alongside the presence of acclaimed chefs and premium sponsors—from Champagne Lanson and Cadillac to Bacardi and Saratoga Water—sets the stage for a celebration that embodies both creativity and craftsmanship.
With evenings along the waterfront, inventive new tastings, and intimate collaborations that highlight the best of global cuisine, the 18th annual Palm Beach Food & Wine Festival is poised to deliver a season-defining experience. Hostettler, President & CEO of The Boca Raton. "We're bringing Napa Valley's finest vintners and world-class chefs together for a weekend that celebrates craft and community. After last year's incredible response, we're raising the bar in every way, offering guests an even more immersive experience and the chance to support two important charities.
