About us
Thanks for considering membership in Ethnic Food Lovers of Palm Beach County (EFLPBC).
We're a diverse group of mostly singles and mostly those aged 55+, but everyone is welcome to join us at food and drink events throughout Palm Beach County.
We strive to source the most affordable and most interesting ethnic restaurants in Palm Beach County, with an average Yelp score of at least 4/5 stars.
We try to vary our restaurants and cuisines, though admittedly we have our favorites.
What are your favorites?
We are the older sibling of the recently-launched Ethnic Food Lovers of Broward County, which you also should consider joining.
We come together for the joy of eating, drinking, making new friends, and sharing our travel and dining experiences.
There is an emphasis on positivity and gratefulness rather than on complaining and criticizing.
The group is a safe environment for all.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for insulting, berating, disrespecting, or harassing others, including waitstaff, event hosts, fellow members, and unrelated diners.
There is never a group charge.
We order dinner entrees.
For breakfast and lunch events, we generally order what we wish, although ordering something significant, whether an omelet, salad, or a sandwich, will ensure that we’ll be welcomed back to the restaurant in the future.
Separate checks will always be issued wherever we eat.
We leave political and religious discussions to other meetup groups and our friends, neighbors, and family members outside the group.
We limit our phone use when we're together and focus on eating and socializing.
No-showing twice at hosted events will get a member removed from the group.
A pattern of chronic event sign-ups followed by chronic un-RSVPing will also get a member removed.
An RSVP is an expression of an intent to attend and not simply a placeholder in case one wishes to attend.
You're sure to fit right in if you value civility, humor, and good conversation.
Bring a good appetite and your gift for gab.
Please also be sure to post your favorite ethnic eateries on our discussion page and enable all group messages.
Contact me directly with any questions or concerns that you may have.
I do not bite!!
Steve
PS And again, those who register without proper headshots will be removed and not be given a second chance to join.
