Does anyone still like to go to the movies and discuss them afterward in a casual setting?
Here's a chance for me, a veteran Meetup organizer, to find out.
Let's combine movie-going and discussion, keeping the discussion to no more than one hour immediately following the movie.
If there is interest, we'll schedule more and more events.
We'll schedule events on weekdays and weekends, during the day and in the evenings. That should cover everything!
Let's begin with the Movies of Delray as a base as they appear to sometimes show some off-the-beaten-path films.
Let's also consider attending upcoming film festivals in Palm Beach and Broward counties as well.
As members, your role will be simple: sign up, show up, and stick around for the conversation after the movie ends.
Most members (I'm guessing) will be over 55, but anyone is welcome as long as they aren't playing on their phone or having private neighborly conversations.
I'm sure you'd agree it makes little sense to sit with a bunch of strangers, not exchange words or views, and then immediately go home.
Share thoughts and ideas, have a quick snack if you wish, and perhaps make a new friend.
One final question.
