EFLPBC Presents A New Haven Pizza Experience
Details
Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana (known simply as "Pepe’s") is one of the oldest and most famous pizzerias in the United States, celebrated for originating New Haven-style pizza (locally called apizza).
Founded in 1925 by Italian immigrant Frank Pepe and his wife Filomena in New Haven, Connecticut, the business has grown into an iconic family-owned chain with 17 locations across 7 states.
And guess what? One of the locations is in Delray Beach!!
What Makes Frank Pepe's Unique
- The Crust: Handcrafted using high-hydration, double-fermented dough to create a light, thin, and chewy interior with a heavily charred, crisp finish.
- The Ovens: Baked inside custom, massive 100,000-pound coal-fired brick ovens operating at intense heat to replicate the signature flavor of the original flagship location.
- The Ingredients: Signature crushed tomatoes are handpicked and imported directly from the Naples region of Italy.
Menu Highlights
- The White Clam Pizza: A world-famous specialty made with fresh clams, garlic, oregano, grated Pecorino Romano, and olive oil (no tomato sauce, no mozzarella).
- The Original Tomato Pie: The traditional pie that started it all, featuring crushed Italian tomatoes, garlic, oregano, olive oil, and a dusting of Pecorino Romano (mozzarella is an extra topping).
- Fresh Tomato Pie: A highly sought-after seasonal specialty served only in the summer months using fresh, native sliced tomatoes and basil.
