As of May 2023 we will no longer require proof of COVID vaccination to attend a contra dance and masks will be optional, not required.
Bandwidth brings together three of Portland's contra dance music veterans, Gordy Euler (fiddle, whistle, piano), Keith Moe (fiddle), and Carl Thor (piano, mandolin) in a new configuration. Their list of band affiliations reads like a “Who's Who” of the Portland folk music scene,
William Watson began calling in Texas in 1992. William’s extensive experience and soothing voice project a calm confidence. His vigilant and thoughtful dance programming ensures a variety of figures, transitions, and sequences. His calling proficiency and sensitivities ensure both new and experienced dancers have a good time.
- Both new and experienced dancers are welcome!
- Each dance is taught by the caller.
- No partner is necessary, anyone may ask anyone to dance and it’s traditional to dance with a different partner every dance.
- Calling will use Larks & Robins gender-neutral terminology.
- Beginner lesson starts at 7:00 pm (experienced dancers are welcome) and the dance starts at 7:30 pm.
- Admission- Adults: $12-$20 sliding scale ($2 discount for current EFS members), College students: $8, Youth under 18 and children with an adult are always free.
