Welcome to our Evangelical Spiritual Reading (Lectio Divina) Group!
This group aims to provide a supportive space and time for those who want to treat the Bible as more than just written words to be studied intellectually, but to experience the Word of God as "living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12, NKJV).
In this group, we explore the ancient practice of Lectio Divina as a way of encountering God in His Word to hear Him speak to us in life-transforming ways.
As Evangelical Christians, we value biblical authority and sound doctrine, so each session will include a brief introduction of the historical, literary and/or theological context of the Bible passage, followed by a guided Lectio Divina practice to help us listen to God's Word with discernment and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit's leading.
