How is it almost November already? My Mum always used to tell me that every year goes faster than the last and I'm starting to realise just how right she was.

It will be nearly five months since I stepped into the CTO role at REANNZ, and it's been a steep but incredibly rewarding learning curve. I would love to share some reflections from the journey so far, the challenges we're navigating and where I see some real opportunities ahead.

This isn't a presentation and there won't be any slides. Just an informal conversation about leadership, change and the realities of trying to move forward when there's a lot happening around you.

Last year REANNZ launched a new strategy, following the merger of our Advanced Network and High Performance Computing teams. We're bringing together different cultures, different ways of working and doing that while technology continues to evolve at pace. It raises a question I'm sure many of us are grappling with: how do we move fast and still keep the wheels on?

Most importantly though, this is really an opportunity for us to spend some time together before the EOY rush takes over. I know I'm keen to connect, share experiences and learn from one another.

Venue: Tulip by EightThirty, Southwark Street, inside QB Studios on St Asaph Street.

There'll be plenty of coffee, drinks, bagels and scones available to purchase, and I can personally confirm they make a very decent cup of coffee.
