Hi and welcome to Exeter Socials! The social meetup for all ages and for anybody wanting to meet and make friends and enhance their social lives.
We host a wide range of events all year round including evening and daytime socialising, dining out, film and theatre, comedy and live shows, concerts and festivals, singing and dancing, walks, exhibitions, card and games nights, badminton, scrabble, food fairs, exercise and keep fit, inspirational talks and discussion evenings, murder mystery evenings, coffees and chats, picnics, pub quizzes and more..
If you can't see anything for you but have some ideas, please feel free to contact the organisers who will be more than happy to host an event for you or become an organiser yourself.
If joining a new social group seems daunting don't worry, you'll always be made to feel welcome and comfortable, bring along a friend if it helps. It's a relaxed group and home to a wide range of personalities and interests. Most events are free, but we do ask active members to pay £5 a year to help towards group running costs..

5Rhythms Dance Movement Meditation

A welcoming class for both beginners and experienced dancers.
5Rhythms is a movement meditation practice created by Gabrielle Roth. Guided by music, we journey through the 5Rhythms – Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness – exploring expression, creativity, and connection through the body.

During the session we begin with a warm-up and Body Parts Meditation, then dance a full Wave. There are no steps to learn – just bring your curiosity and willingness to explore. Whether you want to connect with yourself, move freely, or share the dance in community, you are welcome exactly as you are.

- Wear comfortable clothes to move in
- Bring water
- Dance barefoot or with indoor/dance shoes
- Free car park by the hall
- Please arrive by 6pm (no admittance after 6:20pm)
- Online booking closes at 3pm on the day (after that, drop-in price applies)

This is one of our monthly donation-only sessions based on the fundamentals for complete beginners, with seasoned improvisers also welcome.
If you’ve never tried improv before, this is your moment. Join us for a relaxed and playful session featuring a variety of games and exercises, all with an emphasis on having fun.
1.45pm to 3.45pm Sunday 18th January at Exeter Library (Rougemont Room), Castle Street.
COST: Pay What You Can. These workshops are usually £15, and the suggested donation is between £5 and £15, payable in cash on the day to session leader Cathy Towers.
