Hi and welcome to Exeter Socials! The social meetup for all ages and for anybody wanting to meet and make friends, and enhance their social lives.

We host a wide range of events all year round including evening and daytime socialising, dining out, film and theatre, comedy and live shows, concerts and festivals, singing and dancing, walks, exhibitions, card and games nights, badminton, scrabble, food fairs, exercise and keep fit, inspirational talks and discussion evenings, murder mystery evenings, coffees and chats, picnics, pub quizzes and more..

If you can't see anything for you but have some ideas, please feel free to contact the organisers who will be more than happy to host an event for you or become an organiser yourself.

If joining a new social group seems daunting don't worry, you'll always be made to feel welcome and comfortable, bring along a friend if it helps. It's a relaxed group and home to a wide range of personalities and interests. Most events are free, but we do ask active members to pay £5 a year to help towards group running costs..

Menopause Cafe

Needs a location

Come to our Menopause Café from 10am till 12 noon! Set in the beautiful surroundings of The Glorious Art House Café on Fore Street, Exeter.

This is an open meeting for people of all genders to come and chat about all things perimenopause and menopause related. It is aimed at breaking down the taboo around menopause, increasing awareness of the impact of the menopause on those experiencing it, their family, friends and their colleagues, and reflecting on the ‘third stage of life’.

This event is organised and hosted by us at The Nest Southwest CIC, and is run on a not-for-profit donation basis to cover admin costs for organising, advertising and running the event.

We ask for a donation to The Nest Southwest, unless you are unable to pay anything then we do have some free tickets available.
And also please buy a drink and / or snack from The Glorious Art House - which isn’t going to be difficult as their products are delicious!
We meet on the first Friday of the month. 10am - 12pm.

WEEKLY SHOTOKAN KARATE CLASS

We are a small group and currently have space for new members from age 10 years. 10am every Saturday morning at Wonford Sports Centre, Rifford Road, Exeter EX2 6NF. Commitment required to progress in training. Regular gradings. Karate teaches fitness, Flexibility, confidence and self-defence. Enquiries to Sensei Cole[masked] or to myself[masked]. £8 per session for new comers.

Sex, Intimacy and Relationship Cafe

A Sex Cafe is a meeting where people gather to talk about matters relating to sex, intimacy and relationships with no other agenda or objective. It is not a support or counselling session, nor is it a place to come specifically to meet a partner.

The objective is to create a safe and supportive space for people to feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, feelings and experiences relating to sex, intimacy and relationships – subjects which are often not often talked about openly.

This meeting is offered as a respectful and confidential space, with no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action.

Topics for discussion may include any of the following:
Sexuality, love, lust, libido, foreplay, passion, celibacy, promiscuity, desire, intimacy, relationships, abuse, neglect, orgasms, objectification, friendship, communication, affection, arousal, misunderstandings, shame, confidence, romance, dating, sensuality, amorousness, anal sex, BDSM, oral sex, tantric sex, hormones, LGBTQ, non-binary, transgender, bisexuality, fetishes, monogamy, polyamory, masturbation, open relationships, flirting, marriage, long term relationships, commitment, cheating, affairs, relationship anarchy, sexual frustration, threesomes, sex toys, impotence, guilt , sexual frustration , loyalty, contraception, abortion, etc.

Meno Mondays

A menopause peer support group with weekly themes for discussion.

This is a space for people who are interested in the perimenopause and menopause experience. A peer support group and place to share stories, ideas and information.

Weekly themes and occasional speakers.

Monday 3rd Oct: Is menopause a rite of passage?

This is an open meeting, all welcome to come and share experiences and ideas. Together we can break taboos, destigmatise and support each other through this life transition.

All genders, ethnicities and LGBTQ+ welcome.

We meet every Monday. 7.30-9pm.

#### Instructions

There is a café downstairs at Exeter Phoenix if you want to buy a drink and bring it up. Or bring a mug and make yourself a hot drink upstairs with us, we have a selection of teas.
Sadly the room is not wheelchair accessible as it is up some stairs.
