Wildwood Trail, end to end

Details
Lace up your hiking boots or trail runners and join us for a start of summer hiking-fitness check along the entirety of Portland's Wildwood Trail**.
Distance - 29.5 miles
Elevation gain - 3113 ft
John will move at a relatively brisk and continuous, pace - 3.00 - 3.50 mph. Breaks will be very limited, with likely only one longer 10-15 min stop to grab lunch and change socks. According to AllTrails, the average time for this hike is 11 hrs 42 minutes. We plan to hike it, including breaks, in 10 hrs or less.
Nathan will move more at 2.5MPH with more breaks.
Wildwood is a considerable challenge and generally kicks a**, but it's still in the city, so there are various points where you can cut it short and call an Uber back to your car. Having said that, we've done this hike a number of times, and we generally finish with nearly everyone who started.
You will need comfortable broken-in shoes, an extra pair if socks, snacks, water, and electrolytes. Please note, there is little water on trail, so plan to carry what you'll need. We will change socks about half way.
Also, have a map of exit points and someone to pick you up if needed. It is ok with me if you just want to go part way.
We will meet at the NW Newberry Road trailhead about 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time, leave some cars there, and carpool over to the south trailhead near the zoo. We will be hiking south (zoo) to north (Newberry Road). After everyone finishes, we'll carpool back to the cars parked at the south end. Then we'll likely grab some well earned food and beverages together.
