Freelancing in the Netherlands as an expat is a maze: unfamiliar rules, a market that runs partly in Dutch, and a network you don't have yet. This group exists to close that gap.
Expat Freelancers Netherlands is a meetup for ambitious international freelancers and independent professionals that moved to NL and want to build a stronger, more profitable business and actually understand how this market works.
The meetup is hosted by Erik van Duijn, founder of Next Level Freelancer. Over the past 10+ years he's helped hundreds of freelancers to start and navigate the Freelance market with client acquisition, pricing, negotiation and building a sustainable business. This group is the first step in bringing that same practical approach to the international community.
Who should join?
Freelancers, independent professionals, and people preparing to become freelancers, living in the Netherlands as expats or internationals. We focus on office-based roles (IT, finance, risk, engineering and similar), not creative or gig-based professions like photographers or anything like that.
Whether you landed your first Dutch client last week or you've been freelancing here for years, you'll meet people who like sharing knowledge and helping each other grow. If you're serious about building a real freelance career here, we'd love to welcome you.
