A special screening, with two (short-er) films! The first C'est Pas Moi by acclaimed director enfant-terrible Leos Carax (The Lovers on the Bridge, Holy Motors). The second Allégorie citadine by Alice Rohrwacher (La chimera) in collaboration with JR (Faces Places).

C’est pas moi
The Centre Pompidou asked filmmaker Leos Carax to respond in images to the question: *“Where are you, Leos Carax?”*The director of Pola X (1999), Holy Motors (2012), and Annette (2021) created a free-style self-portrait, full of winks and nods to his exuberant body of work. At the same time, it is a loving tribute to Jean-Luc Godard and David Bowie, as well as an exploration of the power and politics of image-making.

Allégorie citadine
In the Allegory of the Cave, Plato wonders: what would happen if one of the prisoners managed to break free from his chains and escape the cave? And what if that prisoner were Jay, a seven-year-old boy?
After their short film Omelia contadina, Alice Rohrwacher (La Chimera) and photographer JR teamed up once again for this imaginative fusion of film and philosophy, with a striking role for Leos Carax. Allégorie citadine illustrates how images – whether shadows or tangible objects – can distort or reveal the truth.
