This time our theme is Superstitions & Beliefs — lucky numbers, strange traditions, cultural myths, and the small rituals people follow “just in case.”

We’ll talk about beliefs people grow up with, everyday superstitions that still influence behavior, and how myths and traditions differ across cultures. From avoiding bad luck to celebrating good fortune, these small beliefs often reveal a lot about cultural history and identity.

This theme is perfect for storytelling, cultural discovery, and comparing the strange — and sometimes surprisingly similar — traditions that exist around the world.

Our languages: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and German.

At Speak & Sip, we do things a little differently. There’s structure — but the atmosphere is still relaxed. Think of it as semi-serious, semi-casual: fun and social, but with the clear purpose of improving our language skills.

Here’s how it works:

• Each language has its own table with a host or fluent speakers to guide the group.

• Native speakers are always welcome to join their table and support learners.

• For the first hour, we use conversation cards on the theme to keep things flowing. You’ll switch partners regularly so you can practice with different people.

• The second hour is dedicated to games related to the theme — light, interactive, and designed to make everyone speak more.

If you want something lighter, there will also be an English chill table where people can sit together and talk about any topic. But if your goal is to practice languages in a structured way, this is the right meetup for you.

This time our theme is Art & Creativity — painting, photography, music, dance, and the many ways people express themselves creatively.

We’ll talk about artistic passions, creative hobbies, and how different cultures approach art, inspiration, and self-expression. From professional artists to people who simply enjoy creating in their free time, this theme invites us to share experiences, influences, and favorite forms of creativity.

It’s a great opportunity to explore how art connects people across cultures while practicing language through stories, ideas, and inspiration.
