What we’re about
If you want to get out and see/ do/ taste new things, explore arts and culture in Toronto, learn, meet new people and have fun, then this is the group for you. Adults/ single/ married/ any gender/ background/ religion are all welcome. We'll often see/ do something and talk about it after, over a meal. I'll do my best to find interesting events at the best prices. Most events will be on weekends, with occasional evenings during the week night, dictated by that event. You can look forward to a curated list of diverse, easy events that are well-organized with a friendly and caring host, and come away enjoying the time and possibly making a new friend.
We will go to art galleries, museums, theatres, see/hear live music such as jazz, pop, symphony and opera, ballet, movies, Toronto International Film Festival, walks, dances, astronomy events, Christmas markets, try new and established restaurants, high tea, and in the summer, cruises, trips to Niagara-on-the-Lake and Stratford.
During our home stay, events will be posted more frequently, will generally be international, free, online, and we will sometimes have the opportunity to participate in live ones. We'll also virtually travel to international famous sites, cities and countries.
I hope you will join us.

SYNOPSIS:
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (2 hours 29 mins)
Lawrence Jameson is no stranger to the high life—he’s lived it for years by separating lonely rich ladies from their fortunes in a swanky Riviera town. When he and his chief competitor in the con business, Freddy Benson, make a bet to swindle an heiress out of $50,000, the professional scoundrels soon discover they may not always be the smartest people in the room. Inspired by the hit 1988 film Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, the musical comedy earned 11 Tony Award nominations for its hilarious hijinks and frivolity—beautifully reminiscent of an earlier age.Sense and Sensibility (2 hours 47 mins)
Kate Hamill’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel follows the travails of the Dashwood sisters—sensible, subdued Elinor and the passionately emotional Marianne—after their father’s passing leaves their family dependent on the whims of wealthy relations. When suitors, both suitable and otherwise, start courting the Dashwood girls, the sisters must blend sense with sensibility to protect their hearts and their reputations. Bristling with wit, cutting social commentary and old-fashioned romance brimming with longing and tender affection, Sense and Sensibility is pure Regency Period delight.Forgiveness (2 hours 49 mins)
Adapted from the Canada Reads-winning memoir by Mark Sakamoto, Forgiveness tells the story of two people traumatized but not broken by the Second World War. Mitsue Sakamoto and her family are sent to a civilian internment camp in the Canadian interior after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Ralph MacLean joins the Canadian army and endures years of privation in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp. When the conflict ends, Mitsue and Ralph are forced to confront their long-buried anger and grief when Mitsue’s son and Ralph’s daughter fall in love. An emotional map across time, this story of love and family is a testament to the power of choosing forgiveness over hatred.TRANSPORTATION:
