What we’re about
If you want to get out and see/ do/ taste new things, explore arts and culture in Toronto, learn, meet new people and have fun, then this is the group for you. Adults/ single/ married/ any gender/ background/ religion are all welcome. We'll often see/ do something and talk about it after, over a meal. I'll do my best to find interesting events at the best prices. Most events will be on weekends, with occasional evenings during the week night, dictated by that event. You can look forward to a curated list of diverse, easy events that are well-organized with a friendly and caring host, and come away enjoying the time and possibly making a new friend.
We will go to art galleries, museums, theatres, see/hear live music such as jazz, pop, symphony and opera, ballet, movies, Toronto International Film Festival, walks, dances, astronomy events, Christmas markets, try new and established restaurants, high tea, and in the summer, cruises, trips to Niagara-on-the-Lake and Stratford.
During our home stay, events will be posted more frequently, will generally be international, free, online, and we will sometimes have the opportunity to participate in live ones. We'll also virtually travel to international famous sites, cities and countries.
I hope you will join us.

Meet Usher. He’s dreaming of one day having a full-time career as a successful playwright, but currently he’s working front-of-house at Broadway’s The Lion King while grappling with his own artistic aspirations and personal identity. As he navigates the challenges of society's expectations, internalized racism, body image issues, self-doubt, and the complexities of his own desires, Usher confronts the "strange loop" of his existence all the while trying to write the very musical the audience is watching.
Joined by a hilarious chorus who personify Usher’s larger-than-life 'Thoughts', such as ‘Daily Self-Loathing’, ‘Sexual Ambivalence’, and caricatured depictions of his parents, A STRANGE LOOP is bursting with unforgettable melodies and metatheatrical storytelling. This musical promises to leave audiences thoroughly entertained and equally spellbound by its poignant, subversive, and unflinching exploration of identity, sexuality, self-expression, and the power of art to transcend barriers.

He is known for his expressive colouring, imaginative landscapes and turbulent, often violent marine paintings. He left behind more than 550 oil paintings, 2,000 watercolours, and 30,000 works on paper.
