About us

Saihara, the village I call home. A "seriously" rural spot just an hour and a half from Tokyo.
It's aging, a bit fragile, and might blow away in a strong wind, but the people are warm and the old-fashioned countryside scenery is still very much alive.

Old houses that feel frozen in time, hills, waterfalls, and hiking trails all around.🥾
Ingredients you won't find anywhere else.🍙
The elders here are incredibly friendly,
and many are still out working their fields well into their 80s and 90s.🧑‍🌾🥕

In spring, cherry blossoms turn the village pink.🌸
In summer, playing in the river is the best kind of cool-down.🏊💦
In fall, the leaves burn bright red.🍁
And in winter, you can harvest yuzu, the local specialty, just about everywhere.🍊

Let's spend some slow, easy time outdoors together in Saihara, exploring this village where nature and culture come together!

Through this group, I'm on a mission to help Saihara thrive again,
organizing events to share its charm and connect you with local artists and residents!
