Want to learn more about San Diego's Backcountry? Then this group is for you. Whether it's the Coast to Crest Trail, Volcan Mountain or the Anza-Borrego Desert, there is always something new to see. This group has activities for people interested in learning more about plants and animals, the history of the region, or the natural landscapes that makes this our backcountry special. Join us for hikes, lectures, walks and other meetups.
Please consider carpooling with people from your area -- we can all do our part to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help the county meet its Climate Action Plan goals.

Nature Education Series: Snakes
Location not specified yetJoin Professor Rulon Clark, Ph.D from SDSU for an engaging class that covers everything you need to know about our regional snakes.
We'll focus on their unique life cycles, diverse habitats, and extraordinary survival adaptations. You will also learn how these vital predators support our local ecosystems and how to safely share the landscape with them. Professor Clark will bring some snakes for you to see up-close in-person!
After the presentation, we'll go for a short walk around VMF's watershed trail, where we can imagine our legless friends living their lives under the trees.
