🎻 Meetup: Mozart & Beethoven on the Water – A BargeMusic Social Event
Join us at 1:30 PM for a relaxing and artful summer afternoon as we gather for the Semplice Players with Mark Peskanov at BargeMusic – New York City’s unique floating concert hall now docked just steps from its longtime home in Brooklyn Bridge Park.
BargeMusic has long been a hidden gem for classical music lovers, offering intimate performances aboard a converted coffee barge moored beneath the Brooklyn Bridge. Though the original barge has recently been retired, the spirit of BargeMusic continues just ashore, still offering its signature close-up connection between performers and audience with unmatched views of the Manhattan skyline.
This Sunday, we’ll hear the Semplice Players—a chamber ensemble known for their elegant, expressive interpretations—joined by Mark Peskanov, a virtuoso violinist and BargeMusic's artistic director. Together, they’ll perform selections from Mozart and Beethoven in a setting that’s as inspiring as the music itself.
We’ll meet outside the venue at 1:30 PM before the 2:00 PM concert begins. After the performance (which runs about 60–75 minutes), we’ll take advantage of the location—strolling through Brooklyn Bridge Park, exploring the cobblestone streets of DUMBO, or grabbing a bite or coffee at one of the area's great spots. It’s a perfect opportunity to connect, unwind, and soak up the city’s cultural and scenic offerings.
