What we're about

Explore photography with fellow shutterbugs! Immerse yourself with people who enjoy shooting at great locations throughout Northern California. Every meetup is designed to challenge us as photographers; to discover new techniques, swap tips and ideas, compare equipment and share images. And we have fun doing it!

Anyone with an interest in photography is welcome, whether you are a beginner, a serious amateur, or a professional. If you love to shoot photographs and/or want to find out what is going on in the world of photography, then please join us on one of our scheduled events.

Check out our calendar and see what's coming up! New photography adventures are being added regularly, so there is always something of interest for everyone!

Time/Motion Photo Techniques

Eskaton Monroe Lodge

Gold Rush is a non-profit photography group in Sacramento that offers quarterly photo programs, and our fall program will feature Lewis Kemper (a highly-regarded local photographer) presenting Time and Motion techniques to express motion in your photography. Registration begins at 9am, followed by the presentation, a no-host lunch at a nearby restaurant, then a shoot practicing the techniques we learned at the morning program. Sounds like fun to me! There is plenty of space at the presentation ($10 for guests) but the shoot is limited to 20 participants ($25 for both presentation and shoot). Since Gold Rush is a chapter of PSA (Photographic Society of America), priority is given to PSA members, and all Gold Rush events are free for them. You're invited to join PSA online or at Gold Rush programs, with plenty of benefits of its own, or take your chances as a guest. Pre-registration for the shoot is required so we have an idea of numbers, and registration information is available on the Gold Rush website at psagoldrush.org/event-meetings/. Even if the shoot fills, there will be plenty of room and good information at the presentation, and you're welcome to come to that and get acquainted with Gold Rush. Many good programs are planned for the future. Lastly, contact me if you want to be added to the Gold Rush email list (not shared with anyone else, I promise). Hope to see you at one of our events!
