About us
We are a non-violent direct action organization committed to preventing the sixth mass extinction through colorful, joyous disruption. Governments around the world are failing to address the Climate and Ecological Emergency. People power is the solution. Join us at one of our in-person actions pushing for a rapid, just transition away from fossil fuels or at one of our fun, informative Zoom and in-person events.
You're welcome to register here for events, but we also recommend going to our website to RSVP there for most immediate updates: https://xrboston.org/action/.

Rat City Rebels - Buffet Social
Grasshopper Vegan, 1 Brighton Ave, Boston, MA, USCalling all Rebels, new and experienced!
Love buffets? Vegan food? Live in the Brighton/Allston area (or beyond)? Come join us for a social gathering at Grasshopper in Allston during their monthly buffet and enjoy some great food and even better conversations!
Along with connecting with our neighborly rebels, we'd like to take this opportunity to review and discuss the XReadiness guide the US chapter of Extinction Rebellion has put together. As an affinity group and as a chapter we are inspired by this guide and look to implement more of these skills into the work we do.
Thats where YOU come in! Gather 'round and let's discuss the best way to inform our families and community about the impacts of ecological breakdown. See description of the guide below.
"The climate crisis is not a distant threat. It is already shaping our world through extreme weather, infrastructure stress, economic instability, and ecosystem collapse. Events like heat waves, droughts, floods, and storms are becoming more intense and frequent, putting stress on both the environment and all its inhabitants.
Many systems we rely on, like electricity, banking, communication, water and food supplies, are fragile and interconnected. A single breakdown can ripple across society.
The guide helps identify those weak points and offers real-world ways to prepare for them, empowering you to respond when the systems around you fail."
See you there!

Reflect on the damage being done at the federal level, and channel our love and rage into sign-making in preparation for the big No Kings demonstration on Saturday.
We’ll provide plant-based food. Bring plant-based or vegetarian side or dessert (or anything else) to share if you can, or just bring yourself!
This meeting is open to everyone! Join us anytime from 6–8 pm.
Finding the Community Church of Boston: CCB doesn't look like a regular church. The entrance is between an Italian sandwich shop and a liquor store.

Re-New & Re-Home Clothing Repair & Swap Party
Artisans Asylum, 96 Holton St, Boston, MA, USAs we move out of the winter months, our community may be looking to freshen their wardrobe with light and airy clothes to prepare for a hot, sweltering summer! Or maybe, we've worn in all of our boots and jackets during this brutal winter.
Either way the demand for new clothes is as high as ever during the shoulder months - so let's share amongst ourselves and learn to repair what we have instead!
The fast fashion industry traps many of us in a cycle of buying cheap but poor quality garments every year as people lack the skills to properly care for, mend, and extend the life of their clothes -- all while contributing significantly to pollution and landfills.
Help us break from this pattern at our mending party/clothing swap!
Bring old clothes you don’t use anymore or favorites in need of some loving care. You’ll be able to trade with others for new pieces that may be more to your current tastes. Anything that doesn’t find a new home will be donated to the Allston Brighton Congregational Church for their thrift shop!
Repair coaches will be attending to mend garments and guide us on basic methods of clothing repair, so you can hold onto clothes you already love for a little longer.
We'll have some needles, thread, scissors, and fabric available, but if you can bring your own that would be great. We'll provide some snacks to share. You're welcome to bring a snack for yourself / to share (if sharing, vegan please). Bring your own beverage. There's a water bottle filling station. Artisans Asylum also has some snacks for sale.
