The Surfrider Foundation San Diego County Chapter and San Diego Coastkeeper coordinate cleanups three times a month. On the second Saturday, we cleanup a North County beach (Oceanside to Torrey Pines), on the third Saturday we host a cleanup at Moonlight State Beach in Encinitas and on the fourth Saturday of every month we cleanup a beach in South County (La Jolla to Imperial Beach).

PLASTIC BAGS PHASED OUT AT BEACH CLEANUPS. In an effort to send less stuff to the landfill we are asking that beach cleanup volunteers bring their own bucket or reusable bag. Please bring work or garden gloves rather than latex/disposable gloves. We will have a limited amount of gloves and bags on hand in the event a volunteer cannot bring their own.

To help out at an already coordinated cleanup, all you have to do is show up. For all beach cleanups, please wear comfortable clothes, closed toed shoes and sunscreen.

All volunteers are welcome to participate and must sign a liability waiver. Volunteers under 18 MUST have a parent or guardian sign the waiver before the minor can participate.

Click Here for the beach cleanup Waiver Form (http://sandiego.surfrider.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Cleanup_Waiver_2011.pdf)

Pre-registration is NOT required unless your group has more than 25 people. If you expect a large group, please Contact Us (http://www.surfridersd.org/contact_form.php?who=donna) and let us know which cleanup you would like to help with and how many people.

Weather--if it is lightly raining, we will have the cleanup. If there are heavy rains, the cleanup will be canceled.
