Get ready to spice up your life, Philly Friends! Our next culinary World Food Tour adventure takes us to El Mictlan, a vibrant spot that's all about authentic Mexican flavors with a modern twist. This BYOB restaurant in South Philly focuses on the coastal cuisine of Guerrero, Mexico.

You'll find incredible dishes like mole colorado , pescadilla fish tacos , and Acapulco-style ceviche. Chef Chelo Manzanarez and his mother, Anabel Carmen Casiano, work together to create a menu with a unique, handmade touch. It’s a fantastic opportunity to savor the rich and diverse tastes of Mexico and connect with fellow food lovers in a lively setting.

What's the Plan?
We'll be gathering at El Mictlan to dive into their menu of Mexican specialties. We'll order some appetizers to share so everyone can get a taste of their incredible offerings, and then each person can order their own entree. Get ready to experience delicious food and great conversation!

The Deets:

• BYOB: Feel free to bring your favorite tequila, wine, or beer to pair with the bold flavors of Mexican cuisine! The restaurant also offers daily-made agua frescas as mixers for your spirits, with choices like tamarind or passion fruit.
• Cost: Please plan for the total cost to be approximately $35-$45 per person (including tax and a 20% tip). To make bill-splitting easier, please bring cash if possible.
• Allergies: If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please let me know as soon as you RSVP so I can inform the restaurant in advance. Much of the corn-based menu is naturally gluten-free, and the kitchen is careful to avoid cross-contamination for those with high sensitivities.
• Important: I will send a confirmation message a day or two before our visit to finalize the headcount. If your plans change, please update your RSVP to "Not Going" promptly. This allows those on the waitlist to join us and helps me adjust our reservation accordingly.
• Parking: El Mictlan is located at 2053 S. Beechwood St.. Street parking is available, but public transportation and carpooling are encouraged.
