World Food Tour: Turmeric Indian Kitchen
Details
Get ready to spice up your evening! For our next World Food Tour stop, we are heading to Turmeric Indian Kitchen in the Spring Garden neighborhood. This place is a true "hole-in-the-wall" gem that has been getting rave reviews for its authentic and elevated South Indian cuisine. From their fragrant biryanis to their perfectly spiced curries, this is going to be a treat for the senses!
Why You Should Join Us:
Turmeric is known for its intimate, classy atmosphere and a menu that balances traditional flavors with modern presentation. It’s the perfect setting for our group to dive into stimulating conversations while sharing some of the best Indian dishes in the city. Since this is a cozy space, it’s a wonderful opportunity for more focused, genuine connections with your fellow professionals.
What's The Plan?
We’ll be gathering at Turmeric to explore a diverse menu of Indian specialties. Prepare to share and savor a variety of appetizers—their Lasooni Gobi and Masala Dosa come highly recommended—before we dive into our individual entrees. You can take a peek at their mouth-watering menu here: https://turmericphilly.com/
The Deets:
- BYOB: This is a true BYOB! Bring along your favorite bottle of wine, a crisp craft beer, or even some bubbly to pair with the bold Indian spices.
- Cost: We will plan to order some shared appetizers for the table to sample a variety of tastes, and then everyone can order their own entree. Please anticipate the total cost to be approximately $40–$50 per person (including tax and a 20% tip). To make bill-splitting easier, please bring cash.
- Allergies: If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions (especially regarding spice levels!), please let me know as soon as you RSVP so I can inform the restaurant.
- Important: Because this is an intimate venue, space is strictly limited. I will send a confirmation message a day or two before our visit to finalize the headcount. If your plans change, please update your RSVP to "Not Going" immediately so someone on the waitlist can join us.
- Parking: Turmeric is located at 1240 Spring Garden Street. Street parking can be found in the surrounding area, but as always in Philly, public transportation or ride-sharing is encouraged.
Can't wait to share this incredible culinary journey with you all!
