Get ready for a deep dive into the soul-warming world of Korean comfort food! Our next stop on the World Food Tour is 뚝배기 ddukbaegi, a hidden gem in North Philly that specializes in authentic stews and traditional homestyle dishes. If you've been looking for a place that serves food with heart and incredible depth of flavor, this is it!

Why You Should Join Us:
Ddukbaegi (which refers to the traditional earthenware pots the food is served in) offers a cozy and casual atmosphere where the focus is entirely on the quality of the meal. From their rich, slow-simmered Gamjatang (pork bone soup) to their savory Bulgogi and perfectly crispy pancakes, this is a fantastic opportunity to explore the diverse textures of Korean cuisine. It’s the perfect setting to enjoy a hearty meal while sharing great stories with your fellow Fabulous Philly Friends.

What's the Plan? We'll be gathering at Ddukbaegi to experience a feast of Korean specialties. Given the generous portions, we'll have plenty to talk about as we explore their menu of classic stews and grilled favorites. You can explore their menu and get a preview of the deliciousness here: [https://ddukbaegi.com/]()

The Deets:

  • BYOB They are BYOB so feel free to bring a wine, soju, makgeolli (milky rice wine), light lager beers, or off-dry white wines to best complement the spicy, savory, and grilled flavors.
  • Cost: We will plan to order some shared appetizers for the table to sample a variety of tastes, and then everyone can order their own entree. Please anticipate the total cost to be approximately $40-$50 per person (including tax and a 20% tip). Please bring cash.
  • Allergies: If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please let me know as soon as you RSVP so I can inform the restaurant in advance.
  • Important: I will send a confirmation message a day or two before our visit to finalize the headcount. If your plans change, please update your RSVP to "Not Going" promptly. This allows those on the waitlist to join us and helps me adjust our reservation accordingly.
  • Parking: Ddukbaegi is located at 6783 N 5th St. There is a free parking lot available for guests, which makes arriving for dinner a breeze!

Can't wait to share these incredible Korean flavors with all of you! 🇰🇷🥘
