🇮🇹 Welcome to Giro d’Italia! 🇮🇹

Get ready to eat, drink, and explore Italy—one Italian restaurant at a time!

🇮🇹 Giro d’Italia (Tour of Italy) is a monthly dinner series where each month we gather around the table at a different Italian restaurant. From classic favorites to hidden gems and everything in between, we’ll be taking our own little culinary tour of Italy without ever leaving the Philadelphia area.

🍽️🍷 Next Stop: Burrata (BYOB)

Our third Giro d’Italia dinner takes us to Burrata, a cozy, neighborhood Italian BYOB in South Philadelphia, at the corner of 13th and Wharton Streets. With its welcoming atmosphere, intimate dining room, and inviting neighborhood feel, Burrata is a great place to gather with friends and enjoy a relaxed evening of Italian dining.

The restaurant is known for its house-made pastas, fresh ingredients, seafood dishes, and creative takes on Italian favorites. From flavorful pasta dishes to meat and seafood entrées and tempting nightly specials, there’s plenty to enjoy. Burrata combines the comfort of home-cooked Italian food with a modern touch, making it a wonderful setting for our next culinary adventure.

So bring your appetite, favorite bottle of wine and enthusiasm for a fun evening of delicious Italian food, good conversation and great company as we continue our Giro d’Italia culinary tour.

I look forward to seeing old friends, familiar faces, and new ones. Hope you can join us for the third stop on our Giro d’Italia!

🍷 BYOB

Feel free to bring your favorite bottle to complement your dinner.

A note about BYOB etiquette: While sharing is often part of the fun, please be considerate of your fellow diners and contribute to the table by bringing a bottle to enjoy and share. Thank you for helping make this a pleasant experience for everyone!

🍝 Food & Cost

Please bring CASH to make bill-splitting easier and to avoid any restaurant credit-card surcharge.

I will order several shared appetizers for the table so that we can sample a variety of dishes. Everyone will then order their own entrée from the menu.

You can anticipate the total cost to be approximately $45–$55 per person, including shared appetizers, entrées, 8% tax, and a 20% tip. Because the bill will be divided equally among everyone attending, the final amount per person will vary depending on the entrées ordered by the group.

Please DO NOT ORDER additional food or beverage items.

If you wish to order anything extra, please speak with me first so that I can make sure it is accounted for properly when we split the bill.

⚠️ Allergies / Dietary Restrictions

If you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions, please inform the restaurant in advance or on arrival. Also, please letting me know prior to ordering, so I can notify the restaurant as well.

Please review the Burrata menu carefully and make sure there are suitable choices for you before joining us. The menu includes a variety of pasta, seafood, meat, and other Italian dishes. Ingredients and daily specials may change, so please contact the restaurant if you have questions about specific ingredients or accommodations.

📅 Important RSVP Information

I will send a confirmation message a day or two before the dinner asking everyone to confirm that they will be attending. This will allow me to finalize our headcount and make any necessary adjustments to our reservation.

If your plans change, please update your RSVP to “Not Going” as soon as possible so that someone on the waitlist has an opportunity to join us.

🚗 Parking

Street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood, but finding a convenient space can take some patience, especially during dinner hours.

Public parking options in the broader area include Philadelphia Parking Authority lots at:

  • South 9th Street Lot: 1401–1415 S. 9th Street
  • South 12th Street Lot: 1339 S. 12th Street

These are alternatives to consider, but they are not directly next to the restaurant. Check walking distance, current rates, and availability before heading out. You can find additional information on the Philadelphia Parking Authority website.

Please read all parking signs carefully, and avoid leaving valuables or other belongings visible inside your car. It is your responsibility to park legally and safely and to ensure your vehicle is not ticketed or towed.

🚌 Public Transportation

Burrata is in South Philadelphia, a few blocks from the East Passyunk Avenue dining area. SEPTA’s Broad Street Line and nearby bus services can be useful options, depending on where you are traveling from. The closest practical route or station will depend on your starting point, so check the SEPTA Trip Planner before leaving.

Rideshare services are another convenient option, particularly if you plan to enjoy a few glasses of wine.
