What we’re about
More than just a MeetUp group, we are the Fairfax 293 chapter of the Southern Cruisers Riding Club (SCRC). This MeetUp group will give you the opportunity to join pick-up rides with a great group of people who love to ride, eat, and just live life to the fullest!
You are welcome to join any of our pick-up rides or events posted on MeetUp or check out an SCRC chapter meeting and see if joining the chapter might be your thing. As a chapter we have monthly meetings where we meet locally to break bread and discuss chapter business. We also organize chapter 2nd Saturday rides, weekend overnighter rides and even week-long touring rides. Most of our chapter members are riders who are very experienced, both with miles in the saddle and riding together. Pick-up rides and chapter rides led by members may include: Long distance riding (over 100 miles between stops, 200+ miles in a single day); Twisties at speeds near or at the posted speed limits; Freeway riding; Secondary Roads, Back Roads and sometimes but not often uneven surfaces. We try to avoid gravel and dirt roads.
Some rides are oriented to the beginner or novice riders who would like opportunities to improve their riding skills. At all times, regardless of the ride route, each rider is strongly encouraged to ride their own ride. Each rider is responsible for their own safety, and the mechanical condition of their vehicle.
Our ride goals are to be safe and have fun! We ride, eat, drink, hang our with each other as the occasion fits. We respect that we may not be for everybody, but everybody is welcome!
