- Sally's Apizza FairfieldSally's Apizza, Fairfield, CT
Finally Cheffy says YES, we can go! Now that the grand opening is behind them and they made their way through their first year, it's time for the DISH foodies to get in their first visit to Sally's Apizza in Fairfield. Location #3 for this expanding company. They offer a newer FULL MENU including their delicious pizzas (ABEETZ which is of course, New Haven style) and a full bar. There are several appetizers and entrees as well. This is full service at-the-table dining experience. No order kiosks. Please bring CASH to ease payment for the table.
These ovens have been specially ordered so that the pizza will mimic the original but, many claim its better. There are actually 2 locations here. There is a separate TO GO / Delivery door and oven. We will have a table in the dine-in restaurant. This place is hopping 7 days a week! Great vibe so join us!

- Independence Day Celebration at West PointTrophy Point, West Point, NY
Our annual trip is going strong. Join Don and I for what always promises to be an incredible show with great music followed by a fireworks display across the Hudson River. This outdoor venue offers a very lowkey environment where you can arrive early, stake out your location on the hill, bring your own picnic food and drink (some vendors are onsite although most picnic), and await the show. While waiting feel free to tour the West Point grounds where you will see historical statues, the great buildings housing the cadets of the academy and the magnificent foodball stadium among others. The pomp and circumstance of the West Point Band is thrilling and there is always a surprise or 2. Immediately following is the beautiful fireworks display that pleases the large crowd. The Independence Celebration begins approx 7:30 and lasts about 2 hours. LEAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO TRAVEL, ENTRANCE INTO THE COMPLEX VIA SECURITY GATE, PARKING AND WALKING.
Carpool as its a ride! Bring chairs, blankets, sunscreen, hat, rain jackets (if the forecast calls for it). Wear comfortable clothes. Don and I always bring plenty of picnic food to share. We encourage you to do the same.
Bring your Drivers License for entrance to West Point.
This is free to the public and located at the West Point Trophy Point Ampitheatre.
