TRAIN DAY to San Clemente Pier( this time we will drop right there at the Pier) for the last and best day of the weekend festival. Here are the details- remember for each paying adult ticket ( $10 Metrolink Pass) you can bring 3 children under 17 free on the train)
UPDATED OPTIONS: I will be in San Clemente already so I will meet you all at the Pier at 11:15 by the Old Fashion Tall Clock(Green) . For those leaving 8:11 from Downtown Redlands station following the arrows that take you across the tracks from the parking structure to catch the Arrow line#3857 that will transfer at the San Bernardino Metrolink station. You will then get on #1859 . If you are taking train from Downtown Riverside Metrolink Station the #1859 leaves at 9:17am train . If you are coming from Downtown Perris station you catch #PV1753 at 8:14am and get off at Corona West stop and wait for the #1859 to rollup. ALL WILL NOW BE ON THE SAME TRAIN- GO TOWARDS THE DESIGNATED SILENT CAR TO MEET UP . All arrive at the Pier at 11:09am -SEE YOU AT THE CLOCK
We will then leave the Pier Metrolink heading back to Riverside/Perris on the IEOC 1858 at 2:59pm arriving in Riverside at 4:39pm and then Perris at 5:23pm. There should be plenty of food vendors there too!!! Dont forget your sunblock lol!!!!

Celebrate National Book Lovers DAY by reading under a tree or take up some fishing at this favorite stocked lake in the San Bernardino National Forest. or CHILL>>>>>>>

Meet us at the Barton Flats Visitor Center 42045 Hwy 38 Angeles Oakes by 8:30 ( we may be the first in line for the parking when the center opens). Note: If you dont have State Pass to park ( free for loan at any library with a library card) you can pay $5 for parking.

This is an EASY 3 mile roundtrip hike up and around the lake.The elevation gain is minimal and we are at 6739 ft.

Bring a sake lunch , water and suncreen and probably bug repellant too so we can do some chill'axing.

I would carpool up there leaving your vehicle at my church Wildwood Calvary Chapel in Yucaipa (35145 Oakglen Rd) at 8. If you need anything let me know. I would say meet at

Update June 8: (1) I have scheduled a planning meeting for June 29. Please make it if you can, to discuss details of the trip and to meet the others who are going - possibly find a roommate if needed. (2) Deposits are payable now in order to guarantee your spot if you have a roommate. Call me at 951-440-2958. if you are confirmed, deposits can be paid at the meeting.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday - 3 days and 2 nights of fun! If you don't have Columbus Day off... play hooky! Hiking, biking, boating, there's no shortage of things to do in the fresh mountain air. We'll spend 2 nights at the WorldMark resort (those who went on our Utah adventure know how nice the accommodations are). Lodging cost will be $80 or less per person, double occupancy. You will need to have a roommate to reserve a room, or pay double for single occupancy. A deposit of $40pp is required to confirm your space, which is refundable until September 1, when the remainder is due.

Some possible activities include:
Hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail
Castle Rock hiking trail
Bicycle trail around the lake (rent or bring your own bike)
Explore Holcomb Valley, with tenants of an old mining settlement
Boating or kayaking on the lake
A narrated boat tour around the lake
Visit the Moonridge wild animal zoo
Zip lining
Resort activities include tennis, basketball, horseshoes, exercise room, heated pool and hot tub. We can relax and play table games in the rec room after the day's adventures.

We will likely schedule an informational meeting which can also be a good way to find a roommate. Don't hesitate to join the wait list of it says the event is full.

This April, we loved Saint George and Zion National Park for spring break; next year, it will be Angels Camp and Yosemite, giant redwoods, and the historic towns of gold country in Northern California. Five nights accommodation at the Worldmark Angels Camp will cost $170 or less per person, double occupancy.
