UPDATE DEC. 27: This hike was postposed once due to rain, and it might happen again. The forecast is calling for 3 days of rain which would make for a muddy trail even if the sun is out on Saturday. IF NECESSARY, we will postpone to the following Saturday, Jan 10. Watch for an announcement here and by e-mail on Wednesday. I hope everyone can make if even if we do have to change the date.

The Eagle Rock is an awesome formation that truly looks like an eagle - definitely worth seeing in person! (The night photo is one I took myself last year.) And this moderate hike on a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail is an enjoyable way to get there. The trail begins at a gate near the fire station on the south side of Warner Springs, but we will meet in the parking lot just before the fire station (see map in the photo below). The 5-star rated trail is about 3 miles each way, out and back, with 856' elevation gain. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 951-440-2958.
