PCT to Eagle Rock at Warner Springs
Details
Update 12:31: Good news in the forecast! As of now it's showing cloudy but NO rain on Friday or Saturday! Still, weather can change, but if we should have to postpone, I will announce it here on Friday.
Note: the address of the fire station (for GPS) is 31049 CA-79, Warner Springs, CA 92086. but the parking lot is just before you get to the fire station. The trail head is a gate just past the station.
The Eagle Rock is an awesome formation that truly looks like an eagle - definitely worth seeing in person! (The night photo is one I took myself last year.) And this moderate hike on a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail is an enjoyable way to get there. The trail begins at a gate near the fire station on the south side of Warner Springs, but we will meet in the parking lot just before the fire station (see map in the photo below). The 5-star rated trail is about 3 miles each way, out and back, with 856' elevation gain. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 951-440-2958.
