Let’s go TROLL HUNTING at the South Coast Botanic Garden!

We’re heading out on a whimsical outdoor adventure to explore Thomas Dambo’s TROLLS: A Field Study, a playful expedition featuring 12 giant Trolls crafted entirely from reclaimed wood. These gentle, globe‑trotting giants have traveled all the way to our corner of the world on a special mission: to observe humankind’s delightful quirks and discover what makes each of us wonderfully, uniquely us.

Their arrival has transformed the Garden’s 87 acres into a storybook landscape. As we wander the grounds, we’ll find Trolls tucked into immersive, unexpected locations, each inviting us to see the world through their curious eyes. Think of it as part nature walk, part art exploration, part scavenger hunt, and fully enchanting.

What to expect:

  • Visits to each Troll installation and time to explore the gardens
  • A chance to step into the Trolls’ world and become part of their “field study”
  • Plenty of photo opportunities

What to bring:
Comfortable walking shoes, water, sunscreen, snacks, and a sense of adventure.
