South Mountain Hike + History + A.T. Shelter Lunch + Boonsboro Spirits 🌲🍻

Hey gang! 👋
We’re kicking off a fun and meaningful hike this week!
Meet at the Old South Mountain Inn parking lot (note: restaurant is closed) for a moderate out-and-back trek packed with history, views, and Appalachian Trail vibes.
🔸 First Stop: We'll hike up to the Reno Monument, where we’ll take a short pause for a brief history tour about Civil War General Jesse Reno and the Battle of South Mountain.
🔸 Then: We’ll continue on a scenic stretch of the Appalachian Trail to the Rock Run Shelters—classic A.T. resting spots tucked into the woods. There, we’ll kick back for a trail lunch/snack (BYO food and water!) and enjoy some well-earned chill time under the trees.
🔸 Bonus: Bring a little something to sip if you like (responsibly!), and soak in the trail magic.
🔸 After the hike: For those who want to keep the good times rolling, we’ll cruise into Boonsboro for a post-hike spirits tasting and a margarita. 🍹🍸 It’s a great way to end the day and raise a glass to nature, history, and good company.
