A History of Mr. Wells
Sunday September 27th at 7.15pm for 7.30pm start
Hop Blossom Pub, Long Garden Walk, Farnham, GU9 7HX
A talk by Andrew Morgan, former chairman of Farnham U3A, about H G Wells
"Known now as the father of Science Fiction, there is a great deal more to this influential literary figure.
His humble roots gave him a unique insight into the experience of the late nineteenth century working class. This set him apart from his socially elite literary circle. He was a complex man, as interesting people often are, with a liberal view of marital fidelity.
This talk will seek to explore the man beyond the Martian invasion!"
Do come along and join in the discussion.
Everyone is welcome!!
Non-members £3. Members free. Drinks are available at the Pub
H G Wells was also a humanist – see Humanists UK’s Humanist Heritage website https://heritage.humanists.uk/h-g-wells/
