About us
Welcome to the London FastAPI Meetup group!
This group is designed for anyone interested in learning and sharing their knowledge about FastAPI which is one of the hottest python web frameworks for building APIs.
The group is aimed at developers of all levels, from beginners to advanced, who are interested in learning about FastAPI and its features, as well as networking with other developers in the community. Also, we will be supporting developers who want to migrate to FastAPI from other Python frameworks like Django or Flask.
Throughout our events, we'll be covering a range of topics, including but not limited to:
- Introduction to FastAPI
- Best practices for building APIs with FastAPI
- Integrating FastAPI with other Python libraries and frameworks
- Deploying FastAPI applications to production
- Advanced topics, such as background tasks, testing, authentication, and more.
Events we're planning will consist of talks, workshops, code reviews, and Q&A sessions. We encourage members to share their experiences and projects with the group, as well as ask questions and participate in discussions.
Whether you're new to FastAPI or an experienced developer, our meetup group is the perfect place to learn, share, and grow your skills. Join us for our next event and let's build some awesome APIs together!

Why Your AI Agent Will Fail In Production
·OnlineOnlineJoin us for a free live session on what happens once an AI agent is serving real traffic through your API. The session content is drawn from Ali Parandeh's upcoming Manning liveProject series, and the practical follow-on from his FastAPI book (O'Reilly, 2025).
In this talk, Ali will cover the production-reliability problems specific to serving agents through a service layer: tool-calling failures that don't surface as clean exceptions, cost and latency that scale unpredictably once an agent starts making its own decisions, and where guardrails actually belong in the architecture.
This session is designed for engineers building or serving AI systems through FastAPI or similar frameworks who want to go beyond "call the model from your endpoint."
- Date: Monday 10 August 2026
- Time: 6:30pm to 7:30pm (1 hour)
- Location: Online (Free)
We'll cover:
- Core failure patterns once an agent moves from notebook to service
- Tool-calling failures and why retries often make things worse
- Cost and latency at scale, and why agents don't scale linearly
- Where guardrails belong in your service layer
- A preview of the upcoming Building Reliable AI Agents Series (Manning, 2026)
No coding setup required, this is a talk with live examples.
