Real-world Storybook Examples with Justin Slack & Schalk Venter

Details

As our software grows in size and the definition of "front-end" expands far beyond simple HTML templating and CSS styling, it seems that managing complexity has become the name of the game in 2025.

Fortunately, as complexity has grown, so too have the tools and approaches that help manage it. One of the oldest weapons against complexity is breaking software into loosely coupled, self-contained units that can be developed and tested independently.

When it comes to the front-end, Storybook has been the go-to tool to do this over the last decade. However, using it effectively often requires a shift in how we typically think about our workflows and processes.

In this session, Schalk Venter and Justin Slack will share practical examples of how they use Storybook at scale across a variety of projects, as well as highlight some common pitfalls to avoid.
