Fen & Friends: First Walk! Grantchester Meadows & The Orchard ☕

Welcome to the very first Fen & Friends walk! 🎉
We’ll kick things off with a classic Cambridge walk: an easy, flat stroll along the river through Grantchester Meadows to the village of Grantchester, where we’ll stop for a cuppa (or something stronger) at The Orchard tea garden before heading back.
The walk

• Around 6km in total, flat and easy, on riverside paths and meadows
• Roughly 2 to 2.5 hours, including a stop at The Orchard
• Relaxed pace with plenty of time to chat. No fitness level needed!

Meeting point
Outside The Mill pub at 10:15. I’ll be wearing something easy to spot, so come and say hi!

What to bring

• Comfortable shoes (it can get muddy after rain, so trainers you don’t mind getting dirty or walking boots)
• A layer and something waterproof, just in case
• Some cash or a card for drinks or cake at The Orchard

Who’s it for?
Anyone in their 20s or 30s who’d like to get outdoors and meet some new people. Lots of people come on their own, so please don’t worry if you don’t know anyone. As this is the first walk, we’ll all be new together!
If you’re feeling a bit nervous about coming along, that’s completely okay. I’m a bit nervous too! Just come as you are, and we’ll have a nice relaxed walk.
