The Houston Ferret Meetup Group Pages

There has been some confusion about ferret meet up and Houston Area Ferret Association HAFA for short. We hope to help clear
this up.
Ferret meet up group is a social get together group who's common interest are ferrets. It was started that way and will continue to be just that.
It;s a way to break the ice. To get to know other ferret owners. There are no fee's to join or to participate in meet up events.

HAFA is an association that was formed from members of the meet up group. It goal is to be active in ferret issues in and around Houston. To provide education
on ferret care. To work within the community as ambassadors showing the truth about ferrets. To educate in schools, stores were ever we can to build partnerships with organizations such as the SPCA and Humane Society.

To be a member of HAFA there is a $20.00 annual fee.
HAFA Benefits are

1. Voting Rights

2. Club News letter

3. Hopefully a discount at Petco or Petsmart

4. invitation to closed events (members only)

5. Knowing you are helping out the need of Houston Fuzzies. How?

1. Helping in our fund raiser events.

2. Building our medical fund

3. Helping out on our education days ( every education day has brought out ferret owners who need advice on basics ferret care.)

4. Helping out on committees to have a greater club, Being part of a good cause

5. By being a part of the needed networking across Houston

6. By being there for the ferrets and owners, the association can make a difference With everyone’s help.

It takes money to run and make this club successful. With out everyone’s help our medical fund will go no where. Our education days will cease. Our fund raisers won't raise the needed funds.

Our goals for this year include

Becoming a 501c3, Money is needed to be raised for this to happen.(More corporate doors will give if this is accomplished.)

We started a Medical fund to help pay necessary vet expanses for shelters and foster homes and lost ferrets found needing to get the proper medical attention before going to a new home. Hopefully expand out to cover fee’s to someone who’s just in need.

To have available the resources to help even if just for information to help point a ferret owner in the right direction.

Yes these are big goals for HAFA but other cities have done this and so can we. Houston is the 5th largest city in America the time and calling is now.

Please lets all do our part in making HAFA grow. Let’s get the word out to everyone we know.

Thanks all for helping it shows you care
