Welcome to the Frankfurt After Work Drinks Group—now updated with a new, more suitable name for 2026! We are an English-focused social meetup group for the after-work crowd in the Frankfurt area. Entry and membership are completely free!
- Location: Always in a nice, central Frankfurt bar or cosy pub with easy access to public transport. Check the events tab for details.
- Theme: Casual chat with new and old friends from all over the world.
- Time: Every Friday from 8:30 PM onwards.
We partner with another well-established international meetup community for our events, so the guest list on Meetup.com does not reflect the total turnout. Our fun partner group has around 700 members and is called the Friday Night Drinking Club. You can find them on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/21117796511
We do not charge any entry or membership fees. We operate as a non-profit model, unlike some overpriced commercial alternatives run by local businessmen. We firmly believe that people should not have to pay a fee just to make friends when moving to a new country.
The Frankfurt After Work Drinks Group is run entirely by local expat volunteers. We host consistent weekly meetups every Friday night. You only pay for the drinks you order.
Tip: If you cannot find us at the venue, simply ask the bar staff for our group reservation. We always reserve a dedicated area or tables, and local venues know us well.
We welcome all nationalities and do our best to ensure everyone feels included at our meetups.
Community Ground Rules
Due to our rapidly growing numbers, we have introduced a few common-sense rules to ensure a safe, fun, and comfortable experience for everyone.
- Safety & Respect: A comfortable environment is our community standard. Anyone making unwanted advances toward other members will be permanently banned.
- Tabs & Payments: We use a "pay-as-you-go" policy for drinks. This prevents confusing, unpaid group tabs at the end of the night. Please pay for your drinks as you order them.
- Community Posts: We encourage members to organise other events and contribute to the group wall.
However, to protect the community from spam, we enforce a few posting restrictions:
- No Commercial Posts: No posts for financial gain or business opportunities (unless for charity). Exceptions include apartment rentals, job openings, moving sales, or highly relevant local resources.
- No Sales Recruiting: Direct lead hunting is strictly prohibited. Anyone doing so will be removed from the online group and asked to leave live events.
- No Competing Events: Please do not post flyers or advertisements for rival social events, particularly other Friday night drinks meetup

The Fox and Hound, Niedenau 2, 60325, Frankfurt, DEWe have an English language focused group run by expats which is free membership and entry. The group was set up by Irish, British & American expats but anyone can join who speaks English!
This week we hope to see you at the British style pub "The Fox and Hound" with a great selection of drinks and food.
This is mainly a cash bar, so please come prepared as usually cards are only accepted over 20 eur with food etc.
We also have access to the pub's Spotify account and can play peoples favourite tunes!
Typically 20-40 people attend our events in a relaxed and spacious environment so it is easy to chat and make new friends. We have guests joining from other Social Media apps also.
We aim to limit the numbers to improve the experience for all.
We also always go to nice bars in nice areas with great drinks and food, not shady nightclubs with hundreds of people or bars in dodgy areas that charge unnecessary door taxes.
Also, all our events are free entry to support the community.
New in town and not know many people? No problem! Many people show up by themselves and typically integrate into the group and make new friends.
These after work events are typically attended by the Frankfurt expats and locals who work in the various offices in town.
We also usually team up with another International Meetup group on Facebook at our events, so the guest list is never accurate on Meetup. The other well established fun partner group with circa 700 members is called the Friday Night Drinking Club: https://www.facebook.com/groups/21117796511

The group's admins operate a not for profit model, unlike some other groups run by unscrupulous local businessmen that charge lots of money per month. We are genuine expats looking to meet other expats that have relocated here.
