See all- Traditional Music Jam every WednesdayWheeler Park, Flagstaff, AZ
Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music (FFOTM) sponsors an open jam every Wednesday from 11 :30 am to 1 pm for musicians who enjoy playing in the bluegrass style. During the summer, we play in Wheeler Park next to the library. If it begins to rain BEFORE 11:30 am, we meet at the Flagstaff Mall. If it rains AFTER 11:30, we dash over to the VFW Hall located north of the park. Some folks show up at 11 am to work together on tunes and play a little slower. After 11:30, we slide into the jam, using bluegrass jamming basics.
Musicians must have knowledge of basic chords on their instrument and be able to keep a steady beat. Typical instruments are acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, accordion/concertina, mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, and upright bass. We also welcome folks who want to come and listen.
