Traditional Music Jam every Wednesday

Details

Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music (FFOTM) sponsors an open jam every Wednesday from 11 :30 am to 1 pm for musicians who enjoy playing in the bluegrass style. During the summer, we play in Wheeler Park next to the library. If it begins to rain BEFORE 11 am, we meet at the Flagstaff Mall. Some folks show up at 11 am to work together on tunes and play a little slower. After 11:30, we slide into the jam, using bluegrass jamming basics.

Musicians must have knowledge of basic chords on their instrument and be able to keep a steady beat. Typical instruments are acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, accordion/concertina, mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, and upright bass. We also welcome folks who want to come and listen.
