Are you interested in learning how to dye yarn in the privacy of your own kitchen? Learn how to use a low-water dye method using your microwave! Ideal for the hobbyist dyer looking to dye a small amount of yarn for a specific project or to make something truly unique. This workshop will provide students with the opportunity to dye four mini-skeins of wool yarn with the option to purchase additional yarn for future projects at home. Participants will be given a how-to guide on best practices of dyeing, dye recipes, and links to the dyes used during the workshop.

Cost: $125.00 includes four mini-skeins of wool yarn to dye, a how-to guide, and dye recipes.

Level: Beginner. No prior experience needed.

Pre-requisites: Ages 10+.

Meet your instructor
The workshop is taught by artist and designer Maggie Leininger who currently teaches at the Art School at DePaul University and is the owner of Considered Cloth, a retail outlet for unique luxury yarn, hand painted yarns, weaving kits, equipment, and instruction, as well as one-of-a-kind handwovens. Maggie was formerly a professor at Arizona State University where she instructed graduate and undergraduate students in weaving for art and design. Former design experiences include production weaving for a number of established interior designers prior to dedicating her focus on her own unique handwoven goods.
