Homeless Survival Pack Assembly

FOR LESS THAN $20, you can put together a Homeless Survival Pack containing a wide variety of life-supporting items. These simple items, so often overlooked, can mean the difference between life and death, or between relative comfort and absolute misery, for a homeless member of your community.

OCCUPYLV (http://www.occupylv.org/), in conjunction with RECLAIMED ART SUPPLIEZ (http://www.reclaimedart.org/), announces The Homeless Survival Pack Project. Our simple mission is to assemble and distribute as many of these backpacks to the homeless as we can.

Synergy In Numbers

Because it is usually more cost-efficient to buy items in bulk, we have decided to organize these efforts into an ongoing campaign. This group approach will allow for one person to provide a whole bunch of socks (for instance), while someone else provides bottled water, another provides toothbrushes, etc. Then we gather together at RECLAIMED and distribute all the items into packs.

Our first packing assembly will be held on Saturday January 11th, at Reclaimed Art Suppliez (1114 S. Casino Center Blvd. #1). We will be collecting donations and packs starting at 2PM, so please come on by!

Based on the checklists below, we will be coordinating the assembly of as many survival backpacks as we can make. At the end of the night, our goal is for everyone to leave with at least one backpack, fully packed and ready to be distributed.
