Meetup has increased prices significantly. Please consider making a donation, just give me some change at the next meetup. I will stop asking for money once we have reached 120€ for the next year. So far we have collected 40€. But don't feel pressured to donate if you can't afford it.
I fondly remember when Brotfabrik hardly showed current movies, but just classics and cult movies. I had the pleasure to see so many great films there, like Kubrick's 2001 or Tarkovsky's Stalker. I'm happy they are showing a film of one of my all time favourite directors - Some Like It Hot by Billy Wilder . I haven't seen this one in 25 years, so let's see how it holds up.
Some Like It Hot is a classic screwball comedy. Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon play Chicago musicians who disguise themselves as women to avoid being rubbed out after they witness the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. They join an all-girl orchestra on its way to Florida. Marilyn Monroe is a singer, she dreams of marrying a millionaire. With sparkling dialogue and over-the-top performances, this is one of the all-time comedy classics.
I will be at Kulturkneipe Brotfabrik from 6:30 p.m. for a drink or some food, you can join any time you like. The film will begin at 8:30 p.m. Runtime is two hours.
You can't buy tickets online yet. As it is a small cinema, I guess buying a ticket online is not a bad idea. I will share a link once tickets are on sale.
