About us
FFF>50 has an amazing new home on the web. When you join us there, you'll be able to search for members who live near you and/or share your interests, create an interest-based club, post discussions, upload images, and of course create gatherings large and small. It's a real friendship-making machine! It's private and secure, only other approved members can find you there. Plus, it's FREE!

Let's Make Meditative "Neurographic" Art, no art experience needed!
·OnlineOnlineMy local FFF>50 group learned this technique at an art studio workshop and I love it! It's a meditative experience which is all about the process and not the product.
The goal is not something to hang on the wall, but a lovely hour of mindful presence and creation.
You can't mess it up or do it "wrong" — it's all about the flow of the experience. How it works:
- We'll say hello, then I'll put on meditative music and share instructions. We'll proceed in three steps.
- The first step is just making random lines, letting the pen go where it will. If you have a small flat stone or glass bead with a flattened side, you can push that around the paper for even more randomness. If you feel you are taking control of the line, give up that control! (a new feeling for me!)
- In the second step, we fill in the corners wherever the lines meet.
- In the third step, we randomly add color, again without control, but just putting it wherever it "wants" to go.
What to bring:
- Paper (I use a sketch pad)
- A pen with a clear line (I use a Sharpie)
- A small flat stone or glass bead to push around with the pen (optional)
- Color to add: colored pens, markers, pencils or watercolors (I use a simple kids' watercolor set). If you don't add color, you can embellish your drawing during this phase with squiggles, dots, etc. with your pen.
Hope to see you, and looking forward to seeing your mindful, random creation!
Thank you for being here on Meetup, but also please sign up for the new FFF>50 group here on our free, secure and private playground! There are over 7,000 women nationwide there already waiting for you!
I hope to see you!
