See all- Glorious British Gardens!Edinburgh, Edinburgh$1.00
This is a perfect tour for gardeners, dabblers, or just women who love to be in gardens. We visit secret gardens, have chocolate tastings, and take a 'hidden gardens of the Royal Mile' guided walk in Edinburgh. In Glasgow, we visit their Royal Botanic Gardens (very different from Edinburgh's) and eat lunch at a place recommended by Anthony Bourdain. Heading south, we stop at Alnwick Castle Gardens to tour their Poison Garden (with a guide!) and enjoy lunch in a treehouse. From there, we go to the ancient city of York and visit the beautiful gardens of Harlow Carr. We end our tour in London seeking out gardens on top of skyscrapers, in the ruins of churches, and a medicinal herb garden created in the 1600s to train apothecaries. We spend a day at the fabulous Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew and another day at the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show.
Each participant gets a year’s membership in the Royal Horticultural Society, which allows us into Members-only day at the Chelsea Flower Show and comes with a subscription to their esteemed magazine, The Garden. NOTE - BECAUSE TICKETS FOR THE CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW SELL OUT IN EARLY OCTOBER, THIS TOUR IS ONLY OPEN UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30TH.

- Got Leaks? Learn How to Train the Pelvic Floor to Reduce or Stop Them!Link visible for attendees
It's hidden in a private area of the body. But it's so important to our quality of life, in the bathroom, bedroom and beyond!
Let's reduce or even stop leaks and other issues by getting to know and care for our dear pelvic floor in this lighthearted but impactful 1-hour workshop.
We'll practice together:
- Breathing in a way that nourishes these often-tight muscles, and as an extra bonus, it also helps with posture and back pain!
- Doing Kegel exercises in an optimal way (most people's technique is a bit off).
- Bracing the pelvic floor, which helps stop leaks and protects us when lifting a bag of mulch or a child :)
- Adding an inner-thigh squeeze to strengthen the pelvic floor (bring a cushion or soft ball if you have one!)Plus I'll sing my "Pelvic Name Game" song at the end!
Please fill out my quick waiver and questionnaire (click here) when signing up.
Note: Guests outside FFF>50 with female anatomy are welcome and can be younger than 50.
Even though I'm in the health/fitness field, I didn't know how to train my pelvic floor effectively (except "do Kegels"🤨) until June 2023 when I attended a workshop with urogynecologist Dr. Bruce Crawford.
I'm a certified health coach, personal trainer (age 64) and teacher of Pfilates, a Pilates-inspired pelvic floor training program created by urogynecologist Dr. Bruce Crawford. Find out more about me at http://www.fierceafter45.com .This workshop is free with optional donations to support this work and help get it out to more women. I appreciate small contributions and also appreciate everyone who attends, donation or no! 🥰
What to bring: Please have a squishy ball or cushion that you can squeeze between your thighs.
Important: When signing up, please also fill out my short questionnaire/waiver at this link if you haven't yet done so. Thank you and hope to see you!
Even more important: Please join Finding Female Friends Past Fifty at this link. The Meetup group will soon be going away, and we have a new "playground" on Mighty Networks, a protected space for events, discussions and more. We have 3290 great members on Mighty as of now, please make the jump if you haven't already, looking forward to seeing you there!
