Enjoying the Apocryphal and Extra-Canonical Gospels

We have started a new series on the Noncanonical Gospels, starting with the Signs Gospel. Next we will do the Q Gospel. We may include the Gospels of Thomas, Mary, Peter, and others, depending on what is available online. My commitment is to not make anybody buy any books for this. I will try to look mainly at the gospels that were written during the Apostolic period, not the Dark Ages, but if there is a hue and cry to read the later gospels as literature, we will honor it. In this reading group, we have read the New Testament twice, and the Old Testament once, and are in the process of reading it again in a different meeting. We are now exploring extracanonical literature in this meeting, and then we will go back and read the New Testament again. You are very welcome to join any of our groups at any time.
