About us
Finding Ground is an online peer-led support space for loved ones navigating family estrangement or relationships impacted by emotional intensity.
Being in a relationship with a loved one marked by distance or conflict can be disorienting and painful. This group offers a place to slow down, take stock, and begin to move toward acceptance. We are not here to fix the other person, but instead focus on our own experience and the choices available to us.
The Approach
Meetings may include a suggested topic, practical tools, or simple self-care practices. There is time for open sharing, and the format remains flexible to meet the needs of those present.
We may explore:
- Navigating estrangement and acceptance
- Setting and maintaining boundaries
- Communication and relationship patterns
- Grounding and self-regulation practices
- Learning from each other’s lived experience
Is this for you?
This group is for parents navigating estrangement from their adult children, as well as parents and other loved ones in emotionally intense and challenging relationships.
Note: This group is intended for loved ones and supporters, not for individuals seeking support for their own diagnosis.
While discussion of diagnoses may come up, the primary focus is on navigating estrangement, relationship dynamics, and especially our own responses and choices.
*For group safety and connection, participants are asked to have their camera on during meetings.
