"Taking Stock" - An Evening Focused on Gun Violence Prevention

Details
First Community is hosting "Taking Stock", An Evening Focused on Gun Violence Prevention on June 1st at FCC North (3777 Dublin Rd, Columbus) in Grace Hall. Over the course of the last year, First Community, through our “Guns to Gardens” initiative, has been collecting and disarming safely surrendered guns from the community and turning these weapons into artwork. This important and thought-provoking artwork will be revealed this evening.
Additionally, we will be providing “BeSmart” gun safety training in conjunction with Moms Demand Action. This training is focused on keeping children safe and modelling gun safety awareness and storage behavior to keep our children safe. We highly recommend this training to parents, grandparents, guardians, and anyone who cares for a child.
Finally, we have comprised a panelist discussion around community leaders that care deeply for gun violence prevention. This expert panel includes Rep. Allison Russo, Ohio House Minority Leader; Dr. Jon Groner, Nationwide Children's Hospital Trauma Quality Medical Director; Rev. Frederick LaMarr, Ministries 4 Movement Founder; and Stephen Canneto, Guns to Gardens Artist. Please see the flyer for full details and schedule.
