Celebrate Earth Day with BIG MUSIC SUNDAY

"Celebrate Earth Day with BIG MUSIC SUNDAY: A Harmonious Tribute to Our Planet!"

Mark Caswell, Ministerial Intern, preaching Music Forces Behind UUSF present BIG MUSIC SUNDAY in honor of Earth Day observances. You will not want to be anywhere else than the sanctuary this coming Sunday morning to experience our choir joined by the UU Church of Berkeley Choir and professional orchestra in music specifically selected and arranged for this year's UU Earth Day Service.

The featured music will be Cecilia MacDowell's "The Ice is Listening." The three movements of her work contain evocative poetry by Kate Wakeling around the theme of ice: from the nostalgia of frost fairs to a reflection on today's climate crisis, with concern for an uncertain future. The orchestra and singers also join for a world premiere of an arrangement of composer Jessica Margolin's Dona nobis pacem. Ms. Margolin will be in attendance and share a few words about the inspiration behind her work.
