About us
### Where Voice Meets Community!
Welcome to The Fish and Bear Network, a movement that's bringing back the oldest form of human connection: storytelling in its purest, most spontaneous form.
## What weβre about
It's time to truly connect again in the way that only sitting in real life, with real people, telling real-life stories can.
Storytelling is the capability that we have used to connect with each other and create this modern world. And yet somehow, especially on social media, we have neutered storytelling into story-selling and mostly share opinions rather than real-life experiences.
Our events are simple, timed, unprepared story prompts that help everyone who listens connect to our unique and yet relatable experiences. Often, the stories told are intensely funny, sometimes emotional, but always interesting.
I call them games rather than exercises because they are fun and often frivolous, but there's no competition and no one loses - except those who don't attend! π

The Valley Hive
This event is outdoors, under a beautiful tree, so please dress appropriately for the weather. If it is likely to rain, then there is a roofed outdoor classroom space which we will use instead. Gates open at 6:30pm, so please arrive early so that we can start promptly at 7 pm. The circle of storytellers is limited so that the exercise rounds donβt take too long. So if you are keen to be a part of the storytelling, then you should try to arrive early. It would be disruptive to make changes to the circle, so if you plan to leave early or arrive late, please attend as a listener.Let the Games begin.
